Juniper & Rye Café & Kitchen
About this projectJuniper & Rye Café & Kitchen is a fictional business. I designed this sample site to show what a modern restaurant & café website can look like. The name, address, phone number and prices are invented, and the site carries a visible "sample design" banner.
What's in the design
- Tabbed menu (breakfast, lunch, coffee) with dietary tags
- Order-for-pickup and private events calls to action
- Live "open now" status and highlighted hours for today
- Sticky call and order buttons on phones
- Photo-led layout: interior, signature dishes, pastries and storefront
Design choices
Cream paper background, terracotta and olive accents, DM Serif Display headings and warm, natural-light photography, for a cozy, independent feel.
How it was built
Static HTML and CSS with self-hosted fonts and compressed WebP photos, no heavy frameworks, so it loads quickly on mobile connections and can run on a free hosting plan. Every Alex Builds Studio site uses the same approach.
